OAT Testing & what it’s all about

Have you ever struggled with a mood disorder, fatigue, chronic stress, chronic health issues, or have concerns about unhealthy aging? OAT testing can help uncover why you’re feeling these things, and how you can best support your body.

OAT testing is a comprehensive metabolic analysis of a person’s overall health. While the collection is so simple (just a urine sample), it shows us levels of intestinal yeast, oxalates, vitamins, minerals, oxidative stress, & more! Today, we are going to talk about oxidative stress and oxalates. So here we go!

Oxidative stress can lead to early / unhealthy aging, causing wrinkles, age spots, loss of skin tone, graying hair, etc. Although the appearance aspect may seem like the only real risk of early aging, the real detrimental part is the impact it can have on physiological and metabolic health. It can severely affect social wellbeing, cognitive functions, and physical capability. Some signs of oxidative stress are fatigue, memory loss and/or brain fog, muscle and/or joint pain, headaches, and sensitivity to noise.

This test also includes markers for oxalates, which are highly correlated with many chronic illnesses. Having a high oxalate level could cause severe or sudden back pain, blood in urine, chills / fever, and pain when urinating. Having high oxalate levels could also prevent your body from absorbing other necessary nutrients.

If you have concerns related to anything mentioned above, your body could be out of balance. Find out with an OAT test! Now offered at ANMC. Call for more information. 320-639-0044
